I have been accompanying my loved one(lets call him "L") to this pain clinic for about 2 years.Dr Steiner requested a specialist for "L" and it took a little over 7 months to get it done. It took that long because her staff was to lazy to do anything. I had to be the one constantly calling the insurance and asking them if the request was ever submitted to them by the pain management office. It was never done until I finally went to the office and requested for them to do something about it. I even spoke with the manager on several occasions and told him what we were experiencing. It did not matter even thou he said he would take care of it. Yes this is "that place". Finally the authorization was complete and approved. Now all they had to do was to contact the specialist and send them the authorization information. (This is was blew me out of the water). I told Dr Steiner about the last step of this process and she told me to do it myself. She told me to get a copy of the authorization and doctors notes from her staff and fax it to the specialist. It disgusted me!!!! These people never do their job. From the first day I called and left a message. They never called me back. I had to call over and over again because they dont like picking up the phone or calling people back. Also, the wait time is over 1 hour on every single visit in a very small waiting room. In no way am I exaggerating the truth. Once you go tho that office you will experience what I am telling you. The only reason why we are still with this doctor is because of the insurance. This is one of 2 places that is covered by the insurance that "L" has. Another funny thing, is that every waiting room she has in her office has a posting on the wall saying something about cancelling within 24-48 hours. The posting also says that there are other patients that could benefit by her patients calling and cancelling instead of not showing up which if fine, but to me it translates to her saying...."MY time is important but I don't have any regard for your time".
Today was my worst visit to date. I felt uncomfortable with another person I did not know in the room with me. Every time I asked Dr Steiner a question this other woman answered for her. Overall today my needs were n it met I ended up with the wrong medication or a ( lower dosage) than what I needed. The name of the hospital I needed my records from were never requested. She is usually very nice and very attentive. I do not know what happened but I do not deserve this. My wife was infuriated with what I told her because she kept asking what was wrong. I will be calling soon to speak to someone because for some reason my next appointment is on Labor day. I am very disappointed at how uncomfortablei felt leaving today.
